Did you catch Julian Smith's insane breaststroke records... what a swim?

Wow, did anyone else see Julian Smith totally crush it in the 100 yard breaststroke? He set a bunch of records, including the U.S. Open and NCAA records, with a time of 49.51! That’s the fastest anyone’s ever swum this event! :star2: It’s crazy how he split a 22-point on the way. What do you all think about his chances for the upcoming international competitions?

How about Nate Germonperez swimming 50.15? That’s a Texas school record!

Definitely something to watch. It’s very competitive out there!

It’s amazing! But this event hasn’t really translated to long course success for others before. It makes you wonder…

Yeah, for real! Look at Caeleb Dressel. Super talented but didn’t seriously swim the 100 breast long course.

Totally! I wonder if Smith will break that trend. He seems to have a lot of potential!

I think his split of 22.96 is insane for this distance. He really improved this year!

Right? Imagine if he really showed up at the Trials. He could be a serious contender.

Hyped for that! I was surprised to learn he was 7th at NCAAs last year. This leap is huge!

The SEC titles are stacking up! Three different swimmers in a row for Florida is impressive.

Seriously! It shows how strong their program is. I’m curious who will take over next year.
