Hello, I have a swim test in less than three weeks. I need to swim 400 meters as quickly as possible because my recruitment is based on my swim speed. How can I swim faster? Right now, I’m at roughly eight minutes. How often should I swim and what should I do at the pool?
Focus on your breathing and stroke consistency. Don’t kick too much too fast as it uses more energy than arms, focus on keeping your head down/hips up. Make a plan and stick to it
Quite simple if you’re eight or older. Without even attempting, I can complete 6 minutes. It’s as simple as breathing every two strokes and gliding with each stroke (rotate your body a lot even on the arm you don’t breathe).Every time, attempt to perform at least two or three dolphin kicks and flip turns.Make some bubbles with your head in the water, and you should have around 10 to 15 percent air left before you inhale. That’s it for each 2-glide-flip turn: rotate-breathe.First 200 perfectly try to go at a steady pace; third 100 speed up; and last 100 sprint. At the very least, you ought to be able to take a 7 or 8-minute rest.Focus on your breathing; it’s essential.
Is breathing every 2 required for fast swimming times? I’ve always breathe every 3 but I never did any race or competition
@TUCKER It’s just so much easier
