Hey everyone, quick question. I’m a runner with pretty good aerobic fitness, but the most I’ve ever swum nonstop is about 200m. How much tougher is 400m?
You’ll only know yourself by swimming 200 meters and seeing how tired you get.
Are you a runner?
It’s like a 7k for someone who doesn’t run, but in the water. It’s not a walk in the park.
Just focus on one length at a time.
You’ve got this, but treat it like a race. Celebrate the small wins.
@CurrentCraze How did you pull off a 7k conversion? Honestly, I think a 400m swim is way easier than a 7k, but maybe I’m just biased.
@Gia
Usually, you just multiply by four to convert it. So a 400m swim is like a mile run. But that’s if you can actually swim. For people with terrible swimming technique, 200m might feel like running a marathon, so there’s no standard conversion for non-swimmers.
Last week, I switched from running to swimming and could barely do 100 meters. I watched a YouTube video, started breathing more often (like every left stroke), and now I can swim a mile—unless boredom makes me stop before then
