Hi all,
I drained my pool yesterday, planning to close it today, but something came up. My partner and I can’t close it until Friday due to work. It’s currently drained a few inches below the skimmer. Will it be okay like this for 4 days? I don’t have another option but want to be prepared. Thanks!
Either turn off the pump or remove from the main drain if it is still flowing.
@BreaststrokeBuff The pump has been unplugged and turned off. Given that it’s an aboveground pool, the liner is my biggest worry.
Everything will be well. In the worst situation, you will have to remove the leaves.
@AquaAdventurer Thank you. All right. Indeed, we vacuumed and did everything yesterday with the intention of closing today before the leaves fell, but whatever. It occurs. Fortunately, neither our immediate neighbors nor ourselves have trees, so things are typically not too awful. For the liner, I was more worried.
Hey, you should be fine for a few days with the water below the skimmer. Just make sure to keep an eye on the weather. If temps drop below freezing, it could cause some issues. If you’re worried, you could cover it temporarily until you can close it properly on Friday.
