My experience swimming at 6am instead of 8pm for the first time

I never warm up before swimming and I always do at least 3km. Whoops!

The first 400 meters usually serves as my warmup too, haha.

I completely agree! It’s tough but totally worth it.

My pool tends to be busy in the morning, so as someone who isn’t a morning person, I get frustrated if I arrive and have to wait.
But when I do manage to swim, my day goes so much better!

I love morning swimming! Waking up at 5:30am daily for a workout before work is tough but rewarding. It boosts my mood, energizes me, and sets a positive tone for the day.

How did you manage to have an entire lane to yourself at 6am?

My pool is packed by 5:55am with a line of about 40 people.

I think it helps that I’m in the UK; it’s winter, and at this pool, swimming laps isn’t everyone’s choice of workout.

I usually have something come up during the day that makes me miss my afternoon swim.
Other than needing to sleep early and still feeling sweaty on the way to work, I see no drawbacks. Plus, I work part-time at the pool from 5-12pm, so I earn some money and get my workout in.
