Swedish swimming legend Sarah Sjöström announced on Wednesday that she is expecting her first child in August.
Sjöstrom, 31, married her longtime partner, Johan de Jong Skierus, last October after 12 years together and a two-year engagement.
In an Instagram post, she described the first trimester of pregnancy as “some of the most mentally and physically challenging” weeks of her life. “I have always admired the strength of women, but now I understand it on a whole new level,” she wrote.

Yeah nice to see. More to life than just swimming, as good as she is. Katinka Hosszu was the same and I was very pleased for Caleb Dressel and his wife when they had theirs. After the pain on his face at the Olympics - the guy literally looked like he had the weight of the USA on his shoulders - he looked absolutely made.
