This site is ancient but it’s still online and a great resource.
I looked up my town, and it shows a pool that demolished several years ago.

@Willoughby
I believe you can edit it or request access. We have a new swim center that’s only a year old that is regularly updated there.

Okay, thanks. I sent them a message about the demolished pool.
The Wilson Aquatic Center in DC is pretty nice for a Northern US pool (you’ll notice that most of the answers in this thread are for the Southern US). I’m a big fan of 50x25 pools, where you can swim long course lengthwise and short course widthwise.
Hawaii get plenty.
I would have to drive an hour and 15 minutes to get to any awesome pools. The small town (now YMCA) pool is really hit or miss. You can never go with expectations of doing anything and just be super thankful when no one is there and you have the lane to yourself.
The Jackson Street pool - downtown Charleston.
Idk if public but I practice at UMD Eppley Center and it is awesome.
North Shore Aquatic Complex in Saint Pete, FL - stunning outdoor lap pool with views of the blue bay and palm trees. Chef’s kiss.
I’m always excited to scout out new pools when I’m out of town. I think Google maps pretty much did this already.
The International Hall of Fame pool in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Arizona State University aquatic complex.
Where do you swim in NYC?
I don’t want any more piss in my pool so I’ll pass.
