What are the Dimensions of a Junior Olympic Size Pool?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to build a pool for my community and heard about Junior Olympic size pools. Can anyone tell me the standard dimensions for one of these?

The International Swimming Federation specifies that the indoor semi-olympic swimming pool has five lanes, a set depth of two meters, and dimensions of twenty five meters by sixteen meters.

The length and width of a Junior Olympic-sized pool are normally 25 metres (82 feet) and 12.5 metres (41 feet), respectively. This is a standard size for community pools and competition swimming. I hope this is useful for your project!

I haven’t heard of one being referred to as junior Olympic size.

And let’s not even talk about establishments that claim to have Olympic-sized pools in their ads, as if that just meant “big.” You lot of Muggles, that means something extremely particular 50 meters
Although I don’t blame them for not understanding what “long course” and “short course” mean, is it really so difficult to express “25-yard competition pool”?

Did you know some community pools in the US are called “Junior Olympic”? They’re 25 yards long, which is ideal for local swim meets, while official Olympic pools are a whole 50 meters long!
