Why do I always have headaches after going swimming in the winter? I have noticed that after my swim, even if I feel fine at the time, I have a headache. Is this a typical problem, and if so, how can I avoid it? Any advice or insights would be greatly valued!

To be fair, I struggle to do anything when it’s cold and raining because it gives me a headache. There must be a reason why cold water on your head causes this.

If it’s extremely cold, it could be the same sensation that causes brain freeze when you eat ice cream. To find relief, try pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth and consider wearing a neoprene hood.

Sometimes I get headaches after swimming due to having a tight neck. Stretching that area of my body can be difficult, but it usually helps alleviate the headaches.
