Are Swim Bone Conduction Headphones Worth It?

I used to swim a lot in college and recently got back into it. I remember struggling with keeping regular headphones in my ears while doing laps. It was such a hassle  Now I’m seeing these bone conduction headphones popping up everywhere.

Has anyone tried swim bone conduction headphones? Do they actually stay put and deliver good sound underwater? I’m curious if they’re worth the investment. Thanks in advance… :ocean::headphones:

I have never used the swim bone conduction in some conditions.
The benefits of swim Bone Conduction Headphones are:

  • Stay Put: Unlike traditional earbuds, bone conduction headphones sit on your cheekbones, so they won’t fall out while swimming1.
  • Waterproof: Many models are designed specifically for swimming and have high waterproof ratings (IP68 or higher), ensuring they can handle being submerged2.
  • Sound Quality: While the sound quality might not match high-end traditional headphones, it’s generally good enough for underwater use3.
  • Safety: They allow you to stay aware of your surroundings since they don’t block your ears/

I was wondering if you have your shokz in underwater mode? Because that really makes a big difference. I find that using earplugs helps to minimize the noise of the water.

I just don’t like them at all. I have had a few Shokz headphones, and they’re amazing, but the memory fills up for no reason, and the company’s service is terrible. I inquired how to perform a factory reset, but they disregarded me after delivering incorrect instructions for a different Bluetooth device.
