How Can I Keep Leaves Out of My Automatic Cover?

Both corners of my automatic pool cover trap leaves, frogs, and other debris all winter. What can I put over it to stop this from happening? Also, was it installed wrong? Why do the corners look like this?

The protective cover would keep everything out. You should not use your auto cover as a winter cover.

@BreaststrokeBuff I agree with this. An auto cover will likely get stained and damaged over the winter. It’s better to have a safety cover as well. However, some people question why they spent money on the auto cover, not realizing that exposing it to harsh winter conditions will only shorten its lifespan. I’ve seen people handle it both ways, but using a safety cover is definitely the better option.

@BreaststrokeBuff @AquaAdventurer That is wrong. Can be used for both. I have a manual auto cover, which works fine. Just make sure it’s lying on the water.

I have a similar auto cover. In the winter, it is open, and a mesh winter cover is placed over the pool.

The cleaner your deck is throughout the year, the cleaner the pool will be.

However, if you really wanted to, you could use a cloth or tape.

No, it was not installed incorrectly. They are simply designed to be installed and disassembled in this manner.

Use a different cover for its own use.
