I want my training program accessible while I swim. Any simple watch/bracelet/necklace reccomandation (the cheaper the better)?

I go to the swimming pool often and I’m following a detailed training program.

I would love to buy a watch (or even just a bracelet, a necklace or a similar device) to have my training program easily accessible while I swim.

My needs:

  1. waterproof
  2. under 50€/$ (the cheapest the better)
  3. training program easily visible (even with just a very simple list, or icons)

I don’t need laps tracking, GPS, heart monitoring, apps, internet access, training history or anything like that. I don’t even need a smartwatch if a an analogic watch or another device is fitting my needs.

I just want something very simple to have my training program visible while I swim.

I was thinking about something even simpler but in my local swimming pool we can’t leave papers or rewritable plastic boards close to the pool because it is a safety/health risk.

I write my training plan on record cards and then strap them to my water bottle with an elastic band. I’ve also seen someone at my pool writing their sets on tiny thin strips of washi tape on their water bottle

Consider getting a second kickboard for notes. I couldn’t find a good waterproof watch under €150, settled on Garmin Swim 2.

Print the workout on paper, wet a kickboard and stick the paper to the kickboard; write it on an index card, put the index card in a ziploc bag, hang the bag over the edge of the pool (use your water bottle or shoe as a weight)

@SHANZ Printed paper on kickboards is common for teams. Consider a notecard in a baggie for workouts

Printed on paper, rubber banded to my water bottle. Been doing it for 23 years - started in college when our coach got annoyed with us never remembering complex sets and she started printing them for our water bottles

I use an ipad waterproof wallet with my session plan on paper inside. I’m not sure what H&S code that would violate anymore than leaving your kickboard or water bottle at the lane end would.

Could you write it on cue cards and laminate them, or maybe on your waterbottle. Another option could be to make a beaded bracelet with different colours to represent different parts of your training program. If you make it wrap your wrist twice you could move the beads to the other side as you complete each step kind (I’m not sure if you know how people use Rosary beads but that’s where I got the idea from)
