It hurts a bit after about 20 minutes, but I can handle it.
I’d say no, that doesn’t seem right. Maybe you’re allergic to the material? Do you know if it’s latex or silicone?

It’s not itchy or anything. Just maybe it feels too tight?
Oh no. Maybe I have a big head. My hair is super long, so I have to stuff it all inside. Could that be it?
@Vick
I use a swim cap designed for long hair. It’s way more comfortable than a regular cap. Less squeezing on my head.
@Vick
That’s strange. It might be that you’re getting some tightness or redness. Maybe try a cap of a different material and see if it feels any better?

Yeah, I’ll look into that. I thought I was overthinking it, but maybe not. Thanks!
@Vick
Long hair caps are a game changer, trust me. Brands like TYR, Speedo, and Sporti (Swim Outlet’s brand) have great silicone long hair caps that I use often. You should check them out.
@Vick
Now that I look closer, I see a dent on your forehead. Your hair might be part of the issue. Have you thought about trying a braid and wrapping it around your head to make some space?
@Vick
Sorry, I think it’s silicone.
That looks like an allergy to me.

Try wrapping it around your arm for a bit and see if it reacts.
If the issue is just tightness and not an allergic reaction, it’s definitely too tight.
If you’re questioning if your swim cap is too tight, it probably is.

Right. I’m new to this, so I wasn’t sure if it’s something I just have to get used to since swim caps are meant to be tight. Like when you’re new to a workout and it hurts at first?
@Vick
Yeah, it’s not supposed to be uncomfortable. Are you using latex or silicone?

I believe it’s silicone.

They make silicone caps in different sizes if yours feels too small. I usually go with latex for training since they fit looser and are cheap to replace. Silicone is better for racing as they fit closer to avoid drag.
@Pax
That’s good to know. Thanks for that tip.
That looks painful! It should be snug, but not leave a mark like that.
