I wouldn’t say it’s normal (as in the experience for most swimmers), but you’re certainly not the only one. Everyone has a unique face but goggles aren’t designed for every unique face. I often have an issue with the nose bridge digging into my nose, but my rule of thumb is if it isn’t too painful and doesn’t interfere with the goggles staying on my eyes, I just deal with it.
As a guy with a fairly massive nose… this isn’t ok and you can probably find a better fitting goggle. I used Tyr Nest and it fit VERY well. I now have Magic5 which of course is a perfect fit. If you want those, wait for a 2 for 1 sale. I bought them 2 for 1 and they sent me 3. That brings the cost down to about $30 which is bearable.
@Stormy
They’re Speedo Vengeance, I think in the US they’re called Vanquishers. The thing is my nose bridge isn’t high or wide at all. I can’t understand how they fit. I don’t wanna throw them either lol.
I will always suggest Swedes. You set the nose piece to your liking. If it turns out they don’t fit your eyes well, they are not particularly expensive so it’s ok to just move on. If they do fit, I would further suggest getting bungee straps and you’ll be set for years.
If the pressure is uncomfortable and distracting then it’s bad for your swim, and better fitting goggles are in order.
