Plus add sandals or flip flops you don’t want to walk around barefoot on the deck and in the shower also grab a cap

Good idea sandals are on my list and I’ll look for a cap
I really liked my briefs from Turbo they’re a water polo brand but their briefs are super reliable and comfy

Nice I’ll check this brand out
I avoid the Finis black and blue pull buoy They tend to fall apart into layers I love my solid TYR one
There are different fits for goggles I suggest trying an inner eye kind like racing ones and an outer eye kind like Hydrocomforts to see what works best for you

Thanks for the info I didn’t know about the different types so I’ll check those out
A pair of chubby trunks and some $10 goggles from Amazon Swimming is cheap
Maybe a cap too It’s a must-have where I live Instead of a board and buoy you might get a pullkick board to lighten your load

I’ll check out a pullkick board the less I have to carry the better because I have too many hobbies
Jammers goggles and access to a pool or open water are all you need Everything else is extra credit You can nail your stroke without extra gear though I find value in pull buoys and swim paddles for drills but they’re not necessary
Flippers if you want to learn the dolphin kick Your pool should have them if you don’t want to buy them right away
Hand paddles help correct your hand motions for freestyle and backstroke I can definitely tell when my technique is off when I use them
Maybe you should have a second pair of goggles as a backup and possibly a cap
Kickboards and pull buoys are nearly indestructible just pick something you can keep using for a long time
For instance my mom got me a kid’s kickboard as a joke 16 years ago and it’s still going strong even with heavy use (the shark kickboard is awesome)
Paddles will need new cords eventually and fins will last about 5 to 10 years So plan to choose things worth keeping Plus if you get gear get a mesh bag to let it dry properly between uses
For brands
Goggles: Speedo Vanquishers
Pull buoy: whatever I’m using a Speedo one
Kickboard: whatever
Earplugs: Mack’s wax ones
Paddles: whatever fits your hands I’m using some basic TYR ones
Fins: I prefer softer fins Bettertimes training fins are nice
Check out Funkytrunks.com
Add some shower shoes I don’t wash my suits at all just rinse them in the shower
I love TYR suits and caps along with Orca buoys
Swim Outlet has good stuff in their store brand gear
Speedo and TYR have durable gear that’s not expensive
Don’t forget a swim cap
2 pairs of briefs
2 pairs of jammers
2 pairs of goggles
Pull buoy
Kickboard
Fins
