My pool’s waterfall suddenly stopped flowing after 2-3 days of working fine post-maintenance. It’s been happening for about 2-3 weeks now. The pool company blames the landscapers, saying their grass clippings are clogging the skimmer and pump baskets and causing a “phosphate problem.”
The waterfall was at its strongest just after they left, but I’m worried it’ll stop again in a few days. They cleaned the filter thoroughly, but I’m not sure if it’s really the landscapers’ fault.
It’s time to use a cartridge filter and set the pump to at least 2400 RPM. Be sure to check the skimmer basket and the water level regularly. The pool technician can’t always be around.
I got fed up with our lawn service because they kept blowing grass into the pool, which would clog the skimmer. It persisted even after telling them about the issue and asking them to blow away from the pool. I recommend getting a robotic skimmer like the Betta Bot SE Plus. It moves around the pool, picking up surface debris before reaching the skimmer. It’ll be especially helpful with all the trees around when the leaves start falling into the pool too.
I experienced the same thing. Cleaning my filter solved the problem too. The first time it took me about an hour to do it myself, and I haven’t had any issues since.
