Pool Pump Won’t Turn Off

Hi all,

I’m having trouble turning off my pool pump using the control panel, inside or outside. The pump ignores the schedule and the only way to stop it is by flipping the breaker. Service mode lowers the pump speed but doesn’t turn it off, and sometimes the Aux1 button flashes (the heater is removed, so it’s disconnected).

I’ve replaced the relay and reset the board but no luck. Could this be a bad board? Any other ideas?

Thanks!

If the pump has a variable speed, the communication between the board and the pump is the problem rather than the relay, which you aren’t utilizing. Undoubtedly, the board might be the source of the issue, but the pump and the cable connecting them are considerably more likely. That’s where I’d begin. Examine that wire’s whole length for any nicks, gnaw marks, etc.

The IQ30-RS is the portion that incorporates the antenna.

Given the age of the machine, the board is probably burnt out.

@Terryanne Thank you. Yes, I checked the price of replacement boards, and they start at about $900. I’m just going to upgrade and replace everything.

@Gia These days, their systems are WiFi-connected, so you can use an app to set things up and operate the equipment.

@Umbrielle Thank you. I’m going to turn on WiFi, but I’ve also read that a raspberry pi may be used to operate the more recent boards.
