Toronto Pan Am Centre (Canada)

Empty now, but in an hour the swim teams will show up. Behind the curtain is a 25mx25m dive tank. This is the competition pool (over 400 records set). There is also a training pool of the same size. Awesome facility - I’m lucky to be able to swim there all the time.

@Cary
Yes, you are lucky. Only been once, but if I lived in Scarborough, I’d be swimming there all the time.

@Cary
Oof, looks fast. How often do they have it in long course?

Coming from only swimming in small rural town pools in West Texas, we had a practice at Texas A&M’s pool (where my coach went and was still friends with the team/AD) before our state championship meet in Houston. It was mesmerizing and the fastest pool I’ve ever been in.

@San
Yes, they have a few hours of long course lane swim each day. It seems to take 10-15 minutes to switch the pool from short course to long course.

@San
What makes a pool “fast”?

Wow!!! How beautiful. :earth_asia::star_struck:

How many people per lane during public swim times?

During the week, in the middle of the day, I usually get a lane to myself. I’m sure it’s busier in the evening and on weekends.

Huge!

Can’t believe it’s been open for over 10 years now. Still feels like a new facility when I’m there!

It’s really well maintained, which does a lot to make a pool feel better.

Wow!!!
