Hi guys… I have a 10 year old who really looks up to Katie Ledecky. Doesn’t everyone? I’m thinking about getting her book Just Add Water for Christmas. Can anyone tell me if there’s anything in the book that might not be appropriate for a 10 year old? I did some searching but didn’t find anything concerning… If anyone has read it and can share, I would really appreciate it!
It’s rated G for sure.

G means Get in the pool, it’s already 5:35!
It’s a really clean read.
Definitely G rated! I just finished listening to it and I liked it.

I enjoyed it but it wasn’t mind-blowing. A lot of it covers her family and coaches who shaped her journey. I felt a connection with her family, and she seems really nice. I rated it 3 stars on Goodreads.
Very clean, definitely G rated!
Our 12 year old loved it and my wife, who read it too, thinks it’s totally appropriate.
I’ve read it, nothing inappropriate at all.
100% wholesome. I just finished it. She’s an awesome role model for swimmers of any age.
Nah, you should check out Ervin’s books; they’re definitely suitable for kids.

For everyone who doesn’t follow competitive swimming, that was a joke. Ervin’s book is great, but maybe not ideal for a 10 year-old.

Pair it with Gold in the Water for an early Christmas morning read and some long-distance training.
@Ridge
Gold in the Water is a must-read, though I’d say it’s more PG than G. Met Dara at the 2004 trials and got her to sign my copy. She took me to meet the coaches and it was unforgettable.
Yeah, it’s perfectly fine.
What a great gift idea! Sounds like a good read for her!
Awesome! My partner and I just talked about this.
I’m not sure about this specific book, but I often use Common Sense Media to check books for my class.
