It was awesome! I usually swim in a 25 yds pool. It was tough at first to get used to the length. I kept wondering when I was going to reach the other side. But after a couple of laps, I got used to it. And I actually prefer it. It was good to do less turns and double the length. Can’t wait to try it out again.
I’m gassed just looking at it.

Haha. It is intimidating at first but such a cool experience, especially coming from a smaller pool.

That’s exactly what I was thinking

That’s what I thought
I prefer it whenever we reset our local to 50. Once you’re used to it, it feels like lap swimming goes faster since you’re turning half as often.

For sure! I still averaged around the same time, but it was nice to do less turns.
I swim 1,200 yards every day in a 20 yard pool. I’d love to swim in a 50 meter pool. Sounds like fun.
Try open water swimming, there’s no end

Hahaha. Maybe someday.
It’s going to feel like you’re swimming forever. When you reach that point, you’re about halfway there. Have fun!

Beautiful pool. Enjoy! My local facility has a competition pool but it’s open for public lane swim at weird times. I literally have to take a day off work to use it, which I have done a few times
¡Que padrísimo!

Sounds like a perfect reason for a day off.
By no means would I be considered an athlete. I was used to swimming laps across a 25m pool and then one time tried a 50m pool. The 50 was much more tiring to me as I guess I only got half the energy “free” kicks off of the wall.
@Bao
Yes, when you swim in 25 meters you’re always taking advantage of the turns, where you push against the wall and then dolphin kick for a while, so in the end, you just swim 15 meters at most.
When you’re swimming in a 50-meter pool suddenly you’re swimming 40 meters after the initial push, which is triple the amount. No wonder it feels tiring at first, but if you keep doing it eventually you get used to it.

Bog Boy - son of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
This was me a few weeks ago, as the sessions with my club I used to go to were in a 25m pool but the sessions I go to now are long course. I remember thinking ‘where’s the freaking wall’ lol. Still feels like the pool gets a few meters longer every length towards the end of a set haha.
