I can’t figure out if I’m overpacking or not. What do you all make sure to bring every time

Water
I always have my rubber ducky with me.
I need goggles and a swimsuit
That’s the minimum I can’t do without
I always bring a cap, goggles, and earplugs. Plus water if I’m going to swim for more than an hour
My bag definitely includes:
- Swimsuit
- Goggles
- Hair ties
- Swim cap
- Towel
- Flip-flops
- Wet bag (to put my wet swimsuit and towel in after)
- Hairbrush
- Hair dryer (the local pool doesn’t have anything to dry your hair, and in winter, it’s a must. I leave this at home in summer.)
And I wear my smartwatch while swimming to track my laps and time.

Guo Jincheng would like to chat with you about that.
This might sound specific, but I always pack cinnamon gum.
My swim bag has to have:
2x swimsuits (jammers and briefs), 2x caps (one plain and one bright), 2x goggles, fins, pull buoy, water bottle, slippers, towel, and so on.
I sometimes worry I’m overpacking, but I love picking different swimwear, caps, and goggles every day based on how I feel. Plus, if something breaks during my swim, I can switch it out right away.
I always have goggles, a suit, a towel, and if I’m feeling adventurous, I might wear a cap.
If you’re going to use everything you packed, then you didn’t overpack at all.
I’ve got to bring myself!
I bring goggles and a cap
But if you’re talking about real equipment, I’d say paddles or the things for my legs that help me swim faster
Edit: They’re called fins

Your description of ‘the things for your legs that help you swim faster’ followed by your edit made me laugh. I forget words too, sometimes.
Goggles
A towel is a must have. I once forgot mine during winter…
Goggles
Don’t forget my pants… last time I forgot, I got banned.
I wear my swimsuit under sweats and a parka. I pack goggles, a cap, a ring counter, a towel, and flip-flops. I also have a comb. Afterward, I go home to change.
